Day 1 & 2 (in Taiyuan)

We've been in China now for just over 24 hours and we have already been really busy. Yesterday, we arrived in Beijing around 3:30 in the afternoon. After our flight we met up with several other families and found the guide we will be using in Beijing. After the 13 hour flight we grabbed our luggage and took a bus to another terminal where we caught a domestic flight to the Shanxi province. We arrived in Tiayuan around 7:00 pm.

We have a great guide named Anna who met us at the airport along with a driver. On the way to the hotel she let us know that Charlie was already waiting for us at our hotel. We made it to the hotel got a few things together for him and then headed to the lobby to meet him along with a few employees from the Datong SWI.

Charlie has been really good so far. He is a happy and playful little guy. Food is his number 1 priority and he really wants to try and eat everything he sees that we packed for food! So far his favorites are puffs and fried rice. He also really liked the mashed potatoes at breakfast. He is definitely a small little guy. The 12 month clothes fit perfect and he is wearing tiny little robeez in a size 2! He also loves wearing his little baseball cap.

Today we were also able to process all of the official paperwork at the civil affairs office and that makes our adoption official! All went smoothly from exchanging our money to filling out all the necessary papers. We finished off the morning with a trip to the grocery store.
